What exactly is a 3d texture based painting? I use a special compound on the canvas to create textures, patterns and shapes that stick out from the painting. The finished effect uses light and shadows to define the surface of the painting. Some paintings are a combination of a small statue or carving that is fused into the painting. I also refer This type of art as "tablets" because they sometimes look like a tablet from some long forgotten ruins.
